Building a Stronger Family With the Skit Guys and Family CampSample

YOU’RE SUCH A “ONE-UPPER”
Tommy and Eddie meet head-on as the fathers of two families competing for the coveted camp trophy in the movie FAMILY CAMP. After all, who doesn’t want to be the best? But what does greatness look like in the sight of the Lord?
In today’s video, The Skit Guys reveal God’s upside-down plan for achieving greatness.
It isn’t easy to put others first and yourself last, but Jesus never said following Him would be effortless. He does promise, however, that His way will give us life and freedom.
Jesus modeled servanthood for us. As He was on His way to the Cross, He gathered around the Passover table with the disciples. During the meal, Jesus knelt and washed their feet, an extraordinary demonstration of humility and kindness. Then, He instructed his followers to do the same.
Serving others is one way we live out God’s plan for our lives, and it offers us rich rewards throughout our days. Try it and see.
Application Points:
- As you go through the day, observe how you engage with your family and others. Are you willingly seeking opportunities to serve?
- Jesus taught us an upside-down way of looking at the world: the greatest will be last. How can you live that out today?
