The Road Less Traveled - a Lent Journey for TeensSample

Peace as Well-being
Jesus is the ultimate peacemaker. This does not mean there will be no more fighting or tough times. It is not simply a pervading feeling of harmony and peacefulness.
Henri Nouwen says: “His peace is the fullness of wellbeing.”
In Hebrew, the word for peace is shalom. This means the well-being of the spirit, heart, and body. Now that’s the peace I’m talking about! This is yours for the taking if you want it, and you are welcome to share it with everybody. The shalom you carry can exist in the battlefield world we live in today. Jesus gave His life so we can experience His peace daily.
Exercise:
Today, you are invited to give your life in the service of peace by serving someone in need. Ask Jesus to show you where He would have brought peace.
Prayer:
God, I ask you to let me experience your mind-blowing peace today.

About this Plan

Lent is where we walk with Jesus for 40 days. We are going to look at the Beatitudes of Jesus. These are sayings from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. We live in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and anxiety. The beatitudes invite us to live in a new way in this world of ours. Together, we are going to explore new ways to live life.
