Beginner's Guide to FastingSample

As you embark on this journey, a few things will begin to happen in your body as a result.
When you fast, your body eliminates toxins from your system. This is why people will often say they experience headaches or irritability during the stages when a withdrawal from caffeine and sugars is occurring.
Naturally, you will experience hunger pains. During this time, limit your distractions, exercise moderately and take time to rest.
Regardless of these momentary pains you might feel, you’ll notice the results that fasting brings about are miraculous. Your fire for God will be rekindled, your passion for the lost will be awakened, and your inner man will be strengthened.
By practicing this, you are following Jesus’ example. Steer clear from the distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind seeking God’s face.
Today’s Prayer:
Lord, You are my Creator and my God. I come before You to ask for strength as I begin this fast. I come against the spirit of distraction in Jesus’ name and pray that my focus is on You during this time, Lord.

About this Plan

The practice of fasting is prevalent in the Scriptures. We see throughout the Bible this concept was practiced by kings, prophets, and all of God’s people to this day. As you fast, you’ll notice it will help increase your humility, your hunger, and your holiness as you are formed into the image of Christ.
