Jacob doesn't ask much, but Laban makes it as hard as possible for him to get anywhere. It seems that while God could rescue him from the situation, He instead chooses to work within the messy reality. Can you see how God has a bigger picture in view in this experience? How do you think letting Jacob go through this furthered God's ultimate purposes?
