Ending the Year on PurposeSample

Spiritual
"How few of the Lord's people have practically recognized the truth that Christ is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all!" - Hudson Taylor
Over the past few days we’ve gradually worked our way inwards. We began this journey with our focus on the physical, then we shifted to our relationships, and finally on to our souls (emotional/mental). Though these are areas we can live intentionally and healthily, I believe that true health, joy, peace, purpose, refreshment, friendship, and all that we’ll ever need has been lavishly supplied to us from God through Jesus Christ.
If we are not anchored in our hope of Jesus Christ, then everything we’ve learned the past few days will be a temporary fix. Is everything on the outside fine, but internally there’s still a nagging void? I believe this may speak to your relationship with the Lord and the potential need to grow in it. The deeper and more intimate this relationship becomes, the easier it might be to talk to Him, know His Word, and express our love for Him through worship.
Reflection:
In what ways might the Holy Spirit want you to pay closer attention to your relationship with Him?
What's one thing you can do today to live more purposefully in this area?
About this Plan

Adapted from The Last Thirty Devotional, this plan is a journey designed to challenge readers to end their year with greater purpose and intentionality. We will not wake up on New Year's Day and suddenly have better eating habits, relational habits, or work-related habits. We have to make intentional decisions today in order to see lasting change and truly experience a fulfilled life tomorrow.
