Why Read the Bible? A Guide for Preteens

DAY 7 OF 7

The Bible Is for You to Live Out

So, you’ve learned a lot about the Bible. You’ve learned that it’s essential truth that you can build a life on. You’ve learned that it’s meant to give life and even that it can change you. But you know what else? It’s meant to be lived out in you! Watch this video for more on that.

The Bible is like a light for your feet. And when you follow Jesus, you’re like a light for the world around you, too. Others can follow your example. Don’t hide the light that God wants to shine through your life. Live out what you learn. Remember, the whole point of the Bible is to bring freedom to the whole world through the love of our great God.

Ask yourself: What’s one thing I’ve learned while reading this Bible Plan these past seven days? How can I remember it for my whole life?

Challenge yourself: Today, the challenge is yours to create! Choose a Bible verse that’s especially meaningful to you right now—and memorize it. But don’t just keep it in your head. Live it out! How can you make it active this week? Need help picking a verse to memorize? Try doing a Google search on “encouraging Bible verses,” or, “Bible verses about showing God’s love,” or pick a favorite from the reading in this Bible Plan. Or, do a word search within the Bible App on a word like faith, peace, or joy. Have fun finding the verse. Then, have even more fun living it out!

Pray: God, thank You again for giving us Your words in the Bible. Help me to hide them in my heart, but also to live them out so that Your goodness and love shine brightly through me. Thank You for teaching me every time I read Your Word. Thank You for helping me to understand more each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
