Pray That PromiseSample

Faith That Asks
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7)
God always has his eye on the underdog and those that are hurting. That’s his heart of compassion. He says he will make rivers flow in the barren places and provide springs in the desert and pools of water in the wilderness for those lost and parched and dry (Isaiah 41:17-18).
We see the promises that God has made. But here’s the secret: we mustn’t just quote the promise. Yes, God said he would do it; but he’ll do it when we ask him. We have to pray, “God, you know how barren my life is right now. Come like a river; do what you said you would.”
Scripture says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” We have to have faith that doesn’t just read the promise and then say, “Oh, that sounds so good”; we have to have faith that asks God to answer and fulfill his Word in our lives.
