Embrace the Race: Persevering Through Challenging TimesSample

Abandoning Fear
Far too often, the fear of the unknown keeps us from doing God's will for our life. We have a fear of loss, pain, and discomfort. Paul had already been through many tough times as a believer. He would say later that he had been in prison more, flogged more, and exposed to death more than any other believer. Paul needed a word from the Lord to encourage him not to back down and to keep going. One night, the Lord gave Paul an incredible promise in a vision. He told Paul that "I am with you."
Nothing should make us more fearless than knowing God is with us and he is right beside us no matter what is going on. The second promise he received was no one was going to attack or harm him. God was going to protect him no matter how much people wanted to persecute him. They would not be allowed to touch him. He was under divine protection. The safest place to be is always in the will of God.
Daily Challenge
Is there any way fear that is keeping me from doing God's will? Take time in prayer today confessing your fears and releasing them to the Lord, asking God to fill you with his peace.
