1 Peter: Is All of This Worth It?Sample

Don’t forget that 1 Peter is a letter! It is worth taking the time to experience Peter’s words the way the first recipients would have. So, please don’t skip reading or listening to the whole thing today!
Notice the repeated themes and ideas- “Christ” is repeated twenty-two times. “Election/calling” ten times. “Hope” five times. What additional repetition do you find?
ASK:
-What is Peter’s letter teaching me?
-What is it teaching all of us who make up the Church?
TAKE A NEXT STEP:
Set an alarm on your phone or make a note in your schedule to pause today and meditate on one of these repeated themes found in Peter’s letter.
About this Plan

In many areas of today’s world it is not easy being a Christian. We need to ask, is it worth being identified as a follower of Christ? If so, how should we live in a world that rejects us? The early church was asking these questions, too. They were the target of jokes, rumors, discrimination and persecution. God answered and encouraged them through 1 Peter, as He will for us!
