What to Do When You Feel AnxiousSample

What to Do When You Feel Anxious

DAY 1 OF 3

BELIEVE

God is not surprised by the times we’re living in. He saw down through all of time, saw you, and decided that you were the one He wanted living on the planet in these last days! And that means if you’re a Christian, He’s given you all the grace you need to live a life of peace, power, and praise.

You are not without hope and without help in today’s world – you have the Greater One living inside you (1 John 4:4). You don’t have to live a life of fear, anxiety and stress – you are called to live above it as you minister reconciliation and hope to those around you. Jesus died to give you a life of victory, and to be a light.

The only way to for us live the kind of life that Jesus died to give us is to believe it. Believe what He has said about you in His Word. Believe that you have the grace, the power and the peace. Believe you’re called to a life of victory!

And the only way to do that is to spend more time looking at what He has said (in His Word) than the situations all around you. More time reading, speaking, and meditating on God’s promises in the Bible – less time listening to the media and all the negative talk at the water cooler.

For example, Philippians 4:6,7 gives us a biblical guideline to follow in times of anxiety or fear. It says, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Those instructions are pretty easy to follow, aren’t they. Don’t be anxious – instead, pray about it, thank God (for the answer and also for everything He’s done), and then His wonderful peace will encompass you and calm your heart and mind. Isn’t that great?
