Don't Let Success Be the Enemy of Goodness

DAY 6 OF 7

Day 6: It's possible to be successful and good.

When God made Naaman good, he didn't suddenly become a hermit who shunned his position of importance. He went back to the day job, but he was transformed into a worshipper of the Lord.

For an old enemy of God's people to come to faith in Him is a big deal. It wasn't going to be easy for him in a pagan, hostile environment. He didn't know how he could reconcile his faith with his culture.

I love how Elisha responds to Naaman's concerns. He doesn't go into a massive lecture about the evils of paganism, and the importance of making a stand for the Lord. He sees sincerity in Naaman’s repentant heart and simply tells him to go in peace.

Jesus doesn't encourage us to only follow Him secretly, but He is gracious to those of us in compromised situations. He knows our motives and sees the sincerity in our hearts.

'God, we thank You for Your healing and restoration. We're grateful for Your graciousness to us, whatever our circumstances may be. In Christ's name, amen.'

Do you agree that you can be both successful and good?
