No Fear: Devotions From Time Of Grace

DAY 8 OF 8

There Is a Greater Power with Us Adolf Hitler kept the German people fighting and hoping longer by releasing rumors that his scientists had perfected a secret weapon that would tilt the war in their favor. The V1 and V2 rockets did cause a stir and some panic in England, but they did very little to change the outcome of the war. As God’s beloved children, you possess a number of secret weapons that give you major life advantages. The Word of the Lord guides you in life’s major decisions. The angels of the Lord protect you from the ravages of the evil one. The Spirit of the Lord fills your heart and sustains you in trouble and adversity. King Hezekiah knew these things and gave a brave and confident address to the people of Judah at a time of terrible national crisis: “‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.’ And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said” (2 Chronicles 32:7,8). Jesus really did defeat Satan. Heaven really did triumph over hell. Good is really mightier than evil. Light is really more powerful than darkness. Believe in the victory that Jesus has already won for you. It’s your secret weapon.
