Do you have weekly chores at home? Maybe it’s to clean your room, take out the trash, put away the dishes, or even do your laundry. No matter what chores you have, they probably involve serving others in your family and thinking of their needs before your own. In this week’s verse, Matthew makes it clear: To be the greatest you that you can be, you have to choose to put others first and meet their needs … first. Jesus’ friends knew one big secret: We grow the most when we think of ourselves the least. And there aren’t many better ways to grow in faith than to put others’ needs before our own.
