Day Two - I See The Good In Others
Welcome to this devotional for kids! Our ‘UP’ series is inspired by our ‘We Will Elevate’ DNA. We practice showing kindness to those around us and never leave anyone out. We value others the way God values us by being a good friend and listener, respecting our leaders and parents, and choosing to always see the good in others.
During this series, we want to truly grasp what it means to honor and elevate those around us, not just those who seem to be popular or the most important in our lives, but to remember that God wants us to ‘take delight in honoring each other’ that means everyone!

In this story, the friends wanted the BEST for their friend who could not walk. They believed with their whole hearts that Jesus was the best answer! We can believe the best for others too. It is also really important that we understand when our grown-ups or leaders are wanting us to do something when they want the best for us too!
ASK:
In this series, we are looking at what it means to honor others. Honor means to lift someone up and to show they are special and important. The Bible teaches us to honor our grown-ups. Sometimes they might ask you to do something you might not want to do. For example, they might ask you to tidy your bedroom or clean your teeth before school. When they ask you this, they want the best for you.
One of the best ways to honor our grown-ups is to listen to them first and to show them we also care for them by doing what they ask.
How can you show honor to your grown-ups, or leaders today?
REMEMBER:
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other. (Romans 12:10)
SAY:
Jesus, you show us how to be kind,
No greater love will we find.
Your deep love gives us great value,
Growing us as we learn more about you.
Our friend, our savior, our kind teacher,
Helping us see the good in each other.
Amen.
