Day One - I Am a Changeling

Welcome to our devotional All Change, we are so happy that you are here with us.  We believe that just like a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, we can all grow and change as we become more like Jesus.  Shaking off the old and stepping into the new. 

During this series, we will be journeying together through the Bible to discover more about creation and how we are created by God, unique and with purpose.  In addition, we will follow Jonah on his journey of change and discover how God makes a way for Jonah to make better choices.  Just like a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, we can change too and become more like Jesus.  

This week we are going to be looking at how ‘I Am a Changeling’.

‘Jonah and the Big Fish’ in a Children’s Bible or Jonah 1:1 - 3:10

God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and this time Jonah did as God asked!  Remember God’s way is the best way! 

The people of Nineveh heard the message Jonah brought from God - the people of Nineveh were sorry for doing bad things and they asked God to forgive them. 

Remember we can always say sorry for doing bad things and God will always forgive us. 

ASK:

We all do things that may not be the right thing - sometimes this can give us a yucky feeling inside - in these times we can remember that God still loves us!

God always wants us to say sorry for the wrong things we do, not to make us feel bad, but to help us be free from the yucky feeling that doing bad things can often bring. 

REMEMBER:

Look at the new thing I am going to do.

It is already happening. Don’t you see it?

I will make a road in the desert.

I will make rivers in the dry land. (Isaiah 43:19)

SAY:

Thank you Lord that you have created each of us unique and wonderful.  

Help us to love you, and everyone you have placed in our lives.  Help us

to become more like you every day - in Jesus' name - Amen.
