Immeasurably More... Love
God’s love is completely different from any kind of human love. It doesn’t ever fade away or have a limit. Regardless of what we do or what we don’t do, God will still love us and pursue us.
In the original Greek translation of the New Testament, there were 4 words used to describe ‘love’. One meaning family love, that’s the love you’d feel for one of your family members, then there’s romantic love, that’s the feeling you have for that person you have a crush on in maths class, and then there’s friendly love, that’s what you feel towards your best friends and finally, there’s the unconditional ‘agape’ love of God.
The amazing thing about God's agape love is that it is a totally sacrificial love that ultimately looks like Jesus dying on a cross for all humanity's sin. When it comes to this life, families can break down, lovers can drift apart and friends can move on but God’s love never changes, it never fades and is always there.
How do we know this?
Well, Romans 5:8 tells us that whilst we were still sinners, that means not loving God or even acknowledging who He is, Christ died for us. Isn’t that a huge sacrifice to make for a world that might not love you back? That’s God’s, unconditional love!
Jesus challenges us as His followers to love the world as He loved us. What could that look like for you today?

Q: Are there any areas of your life where you find it hard to believe that God loves you? Ask God to reveal His truth to you.
Q: How can you show more of God’s agape love to someone in your life today?
Prayer:
God thank you so much for your love for me. I pray that this won’t just be head knowledge, but it would be a heartfelt truth. Help me to love others as you love me and to reflect you to the world through this love in Jesus’ name.
