Be Generous Together 

Being able to give to a cause together brings us joy. We love thinking about ways to help others and be a blessing to those in need. This is another great way to bond in marriage. Each week, we bring different causes and ministries to each other’s attention and decide how much to give. There is a strong sense of joy we get when we’re able to give.

Previously, we were very regimented in our practice of tithes and offering. We only gave 10% to our church and budgeted the rest for our own needs. We changed our giving approach after attending a workshop about faith and finances. At the workshop, we learned the importance of changing our budget from “tithes and offering” to “giving.” When we changed it to giving, we felt compelled to be more creative and more generous! Now, we get to support our local church and give to many churches. We pray about causes and when we feel compelled, we give to individuals, non-profit organizations and charities. Our desire to give has grown beyond tithes and offerings, and it has been a blessing!

We encourage you and your spouse to find ways to be generous. It’s such a great space to bond and share passion.
