Who You Say I Am - Part 1Sample

Who You Say I Am - Part 1

DAY 12 OF 15

Asking questions is a great way to learn new things and the disciples asked Jesus lots of questions.

They asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” They probably expected Jesus to tell them the name of someone very important. Jesus didn’t do that; He called a little child over and said, “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

Jesus continued to teach the disciples and answer their questions and sometimes He would teach them the same lessons again and again, maybe because they were very important things to learn! One day people began bringing their children to Jesus, wanting Him to place His hands on them and pray over them. The disciples stopped them saying, “No no, you can’t bother Jesus now. Off you go.”

Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, let them come to me and don’t stop them, don’t keep them away.” Again Jesus reminded the disciples of the lesson He had taught them earlier, “God’s Kingdom belongs to people just like these children.” Jesus prayed for the children, blessed them and then went on His way.

Jesus showed us how important children are and that no matter how old you are, you can be one of God’s children. I am a child of God.

Read about Jesus and the disciples in today’s verses.
