This Is Us! (Week One)Sample

 Day Seven 

Welcome to our Daily Devotional for our new series This Is Us - During this series we are going to journey through our Freedom Church DNA.  Some of you may know that DNA is like the secret code inside you - the thing that makes you, well, you!  You may also know that God created us in His image and wants us to live our best life.

This week we are looking at our Freedom DNA - First and Best and Live Full Die Empty.

Let's just remind ourselves what these DNA look like. 

First and best

We will serve God and our church with all that we have, giving sacrificially to the one who gave us everything. We won’t just go through the motions or do the minimum. The best of our talents, time and resources will be used for the Kingdom. 

Live full, die empty

We are adventurers, who take risks and grab life by the horns. Our joy stands in opposition to lifeless religion. Dancing and laughter mark our lives, and we are determined to release all our potential before we die.

READ:

‘Boy King Josiah’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 235 - 239) or in 2 Kings 22. 

King Josiah was a young boy who gave God his First and Best and showed us how to Live Full, Die Empty!   Even though he was so young God used Josiah to bring his people back to God!   

God will use you too, it doesn’t matter how young you are, God wants you to know that He loves you, is always with you and He has a plan for you. 

ASK:

Do you know that God created you to love Him and to have lots of fun adventures with Him? 

Maybe you could draw a picture of you doing this?  

REMEMBER:

So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female - Genesis 1:27

SAY:

God created me, 

Magnificent you can see. 

Every cell and part, 

Were designed in His heart. 

From the beginning of creation,

Every clan, tribe and nation. 

Made in His image, 

With purpose, love and to encourage. 

Whatever come what may, 

This is my DNA!
