Day Twelve: Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” — John 11: 25-26
No matter what may feel dead or lifeless in your world or in your life, Jesus is the resurrection and the life! He will give you beauty for ashes. Ashes represent a life in ruins, a dream shattered, a destiny destroyed. But He is the resurrector! His resurrection is proof that anything that is dead can come back to life. We know this speaks to our eternal life. Though our body dies, we will live forever with a glorified body. But it also speaks of anything that seems dead in our lives—Jesus can resurrect it. And because of Jesus, He has given us the power to speak life! Whether it is a seemingly dead job, or health, or relationship or hopes—Jesus’ resurrection power is alive and well, and lives in every child of God. (Romans 8:11).
In Ezekiel 37:3-4, God asked Ezekiel if these dry bones could live. Ezekiel said, “only you know, Lord.” But God said in essence, “No.” “YOU PROPHESY to these bones and command them to live.”
Jesus' coming to this earth gives us power to call light in darkness and life in the midst of death.
Say So: Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He gives me beauty for ashes. Whatever is dead in my life can come back to life. My health, my hopes, my relationships, my finances and my dreams can come back to life. I speak LIFE over them now and I breathe the life of Jesus on them today. They will LIVE, in Jesus’ Name.
My prayer for you, as we finish this 12-day devotional, is that you will walk in a stunning new hope and joy because Jesus came to this earth and became everything for you that you will ever need both in this life and the life to come. You have the light, the life and the love of God in Jesus. Rest in His glorious grace. And everything’s going to be all right!
