The Great Commission:

Imagine this for a moment, you are a world-renowned scientist, and you just discovered the cure for cancer. A majority of the world has yet to hear of your discovery. As you ponder your new discovery, you see how this could change the course of human history forever. The main reason that you were searching for a cure was that you yourself have cancer and needed a cure. The question you now need to answer is whether you will keep this cure for yourself or share it with the masses. This, of course, is a ridiculous question! There is a cancer that has plagued humanity, and it is the cancer of sin. We have the cure, and the cure is Jesus. He did not just die for a few, He died for all, and the only thing we need to do is believe in Him. Jesus’s last call to action for the believer was that we would take the cure to the whole world!

In a recent study, it is said that only 51% of Jesus followers know what “The Great Commission” is. This was one of the last things that Jesus gave us before He ascended into heaven. The last words from one of the most incredible leaders of all time, I can imagine we as Jesus followers would want to memorize those words, rehearse them backwards and forwards, and know them like the back of our hands! Jesus gives this final call to action to His disciples and guess what? That is you! That is me! This is for every believer. 

Our responsibility as Jesus followers is to make disciples of ALL nations. Right now at this very moment, there are 3.1 billion people who have never had an opportunity to hear the Gospel. This means they have no hope, no peace, and have yet to encounter real love. This is something that you and I have experienced, and we have an obligation to share with people how Jesus has radically changed our lives! One moment, one encounter with Jesus has the possibility to change everything for anyone. What are you going to do with the cure? Are you going to keep it to yourself or are you going to distribute this to the masses? I think we both know the answer. It’s time to be super spreaders of the Gospel.
