When Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene came to the tomb to see Jesus’s body, they were shocked! Instead of finding Jesus’s body, there were greeted by an angel!

This angel gave them the news that Jesus wasn’t there. He had risen from the dead.

Jesus is in the business of bringing dead things to life. He’s making all things new and restoring everything to the way God had intended it to be. 

As followers of Jesus, this is the hope that we have: The “kingdom that has no end,” that Isaiah talked about, and Luke reminded us of, will come! All of the hurt, pain, and brokenness we see in the world doesn’t have the final say. Jesus does. 

A day is coming where there will be no more pain or tears or crying. Followers of Jesus will be with God.

Because of Jesus, we have hope that we will be with God for eternity. We have hope that everything that is messed up in our world will one day be made right. We have hope that God will restore things to the way he intended them to be.

Question: Why is this such good news?
