Beyond: Living UnshakableSample

In order to grow unwavering in our love exchange with Jesus, we are beckoned to spend time getting to know Him through the written word. There, according to Psalm 119, we may be revived, rejuvenated and quickened. Each day, we can be renewed in strength and joy by simply reading God’s love letter. 

David, an imperfect man known for his heart and love for God, rose before dawn and waited for God’s spoken word to be shared with him. In Psalm 5:3 David declared, “Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly”. With the written and spoken word of God, constant guides on all sides, we are assured our lives will remain stable and steadfast.

Today, sit with the Lord and allow Him to search your heart for a moment. Be encouraged to ask:

Lord, do I struggle to prioritize reading Your written word every day?

Lord, do I struggle to seek, and wait for, Your spoken word?

Lord, how might You be calling me to become more stable and steadfast through Your word?

With God’s grace and Holy Spirit leading, resolve to grow beyond comfort zones and live unshakable by determining to be more intentional about spending more time in the word of God.

Prayer: Father, I pray for a hunger and desire for Your written and spoken word to grow. I ask this hunger be satiated by consuming Your Word. Scripture declares in Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God”. I pray this verse becomes flesh and is demonstrated in my life. Thank You Jesus, amen.
