COVID-19 IS A WORD NOT A SENTENCE

DAY 2 OF 7

An Even-Though-Faith

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego tell the king, “We do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Our belief in God is not just for Him to save us, it is for joy and peace. Our belief is a blessing and contentment that is sufficient for us.

Whether He does a miracle or not, is not the ultimate. His glory is. We are not afraid of pain or death. As believers, we have an amazing reward awaiting us. He will protect us. Death is not the end, Jesus has conquered it. We have an eternal joy, hope, and confidence.

A few days before the lockdown, I had a meeting with some pastors and suggested they place 1 Corinthians 15:19 at the entrance of their church. It says, “if only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied”.

Even though there is suffering and death all around, our hope is in Christ.

Prayer:

Fill us with hope and joy that we may have an even-though faith in the midst of this coronavirus. You have promised to bless us and keep us, and You have the ultimate word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
