Rise Up & Stand Firm—A Study of 1 Peter (Part 2)

DAY 5 OF 5

What If I Suffer Unjustly?

Great job completing part two of our 1 Peter study! After you finish today, make sure to subscribe to the next part in the series. Now, let’s dig into today’s text and discover some treasures.

Pray:

Holy Spirit, I love You. Please keep me focused and teach me today.

Today’s Goal:

Learn how we can endure suffering by looking at Jesus’ example.

Study Tip:

Consider using a dictionary and Bible study resource tools. (I like using the Bible Hub App.)

Read and Write:

Take your notebook and skim over yesterday’s study notes. This is important because we want to make good connections from what we learned yesterday.

Read through 1 Peter 2:18-25 and write down your observations.

  • How does God view it if you submit and do good while enduring unjust suffering? (See verses 19-21.)
  • Make a list of how Jesus personally endured unjust suffering.
  • In one or two sentences, write a summary of 1 Peter 2:18-25.

Reflect:

  • What does the word submission mean to you? (Note: The Greek word for submit means “to place under in rank, and to be in obedience to.”)
  • What about Jesus’ example motivates you to suffer well when you are treated unjustly?

Apply:

  • Based on today’s lesson, in what way will you rise up and stand firm?
