Christmas Begins with ChristSample

In the light of the build-up given in the preceding five verses Isaiah issues this declaration of who and how these long anticipated and longed for promises will be fulfilled. The prophecy is wrapped up in a precious child. This young Messiah will bring hope and restoration by giving wonderful counsel - supernatural wisdom and insight. We have access to this wise counsel simply by asking Christ to speak into and to shape our private life and our public life. Tearfund is constantly asking and lobbying governments and people of influence to act for the poorest on issues of climate change, corruption, water, conflict and many more. Please pray that the Wonderful Counsellor would touch the hearts of those in power, to give hope to the poorest.
