Learning From the Shadows

DAY 3 OF 7

What Most People Wants And Desires

Most Israelites did not want the manna or the rock; they wanted something else to eat and drink. Many people want something that smells, tastes, and feels like meat, even though it may not nourish them.

1 Corinthians 10:5 says, “Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.” Paul says they were all baptized in the cloud and the sea, but most of them did not please God.

Most of them were wrong. They wanted meat, they were making demands, they wanted a barbecue. For the people of Israel, manna was boring. It lacked flavor. They thought that Moses’s diet was boring. Most of them did not like the diet of eating and drinking from Christ, even though this came from God, unlike the meat they wanted. Still, most of them wanted meat.

Spiritually, most of them were wrong. Previously, the Israelites had not known that a flood was coming. Most of them had stayed in Sodom when it was destroyed. Most of them wanted to go back to Egypt when they were making their way through the desert. Later, most of them thought that it was impossible to defeat Goliath. Most of them would hide from the Amalekites, running away from them. Most of them would not be suitable for Gideon’s army. During the times of the kings, most of them would deviate and worship fake idols in high places. Most of them would be led astray when a bad king was ruling and would lose their minds.

Most of them would scream “Crucify Him!”, saying Jesus was a criminal. Most of His disciples did not believe in the resurrection. Even many of those who received a miracle from Jesus did not believe in Him. Most of the lepers who were healed did not go back to thank Him. Most of the prophets said the opposite of what Jeremiah would say. Most of the spies sent to inspect the Promised Land came back saying it was not possible to conquer it.

Most of the world does not believe in Christ. Most of those who call themselves Christians do not have a revelation of Christ. Most of those attending church do not know their inheritance as children of God. Most of them have not seen the Kingdom of God. Most believers ignore the power they have through Christ.
