There's Hope For TodaySample

People who allow their minds to wander soon find themselves lost in hostile territory. The thought life is not a private retreat without boundaries. It must be disciplined, guarded, and directed (Philippians 4:8). Thinking flows to action like a river to the sea.
Our best and our worst began with a thought. God knows our thoughts afar off. He knows that what is formed in the mind is birthed in our deeds. We should be concerned and consumed with right thinking. Too often we concern ourselves only with action.
God desires to take pleasure in our thoughts. David’s first Psalm points out that the blessed man is one who meditates and delights in the Law of the Lord.
Such a man’s thought life holds prophetic implications for blessing or cursing (Psalm 1:3-4). Is it any wonder that David was called “a man after God’s own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14)? He invited God into the center of his thought life. He welcomed God with the dawning of each new day. He worshipped God with the setting of the sun.
We would do well to bookend our days with thoughts that flow out of God’s Word.
