Shine in the Darkness - Part 2Sample

Shine in the Darkness - Part 2

DAY 3 OF 5

Togetherness

Togetherness: “The state of being close to another person or other people.”

In this strange season, togetherness seems somewhat impossible and even with technology making it easier to connect from a distance, the sense of togetherness is still lacking in some ways.  I’m reminded of one of my favorite scriptures that describes how to act as His people.

It states; “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you.  Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.  For as members of one body you are called to love in peace. And always be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15.

Not only is this scripture a perfect description of how we should act as God’s people, not just in this season but always, it also reminds us what binds us together and creates togetherness, love.

Take time today, as you work on all the things that need to get done, to call someone, send some encouragement, share some love, or just listen. Love on a teacher, a healthcare professional, someone dealing with fear or loss, and create some togetherness in this season of being physically separated.
