A Song of Praise
The beauty of this psalm is its simplicity. This a call to sing to God a song of praise, and verse by verse we are given a list of reasons to shout out in joy and play instruments skillfully as an act of worship.
Among the list of reasons to praise God are God’s character, His faithfulness, His love, the stars, His power over creation and His power over nations.
We don’t spend enough of our devotion time in praise; instead we come and give God our list of problems and desires then move on. Let's change that. Spend your devotion time today writing your own list of reasons to sing a song of praise to God. Include things of creation, aspects of God’s character, what God has done for you and anything else that builds thankfulness in your heart. You may want to sing them out or simply pray through them and put a song of praise on so you can join the psalmist in praising God for how good He truly is.
