Devotional: Aren’t Jesus’ ways of approaching people, situations and things quite interesting and intriguing? We perceive them as such because they are completely opposed to what we see around us; but normality should be exactly Jesus’ example. In this chapter, we see how our identity shouldn’t be built on the position we hold in our society, but on how willing we are to serve those around us. If we want to be like Jesus, then we ought to serve, not wait to be served. Only by doing such, we will be first in line. Choose carefully the values you live by because they determine the hierarchy in God’s kingdom; surely you don’t want to be the last one there. 

To think about: Take a little bit of time to evaluate the natural reactions of your heart – how many times have you got upset because others were more favored than yourself?
