When mass uncertainty and disruption hit, it’s an opportunity to pray specific prayers for all those affected. Business leaders are faced with many difficult decisions daily, from how to keep people safe, and keep the business running and financially solvent, to what expenses to cut. Those in the fields of science and technology feel pressure to create solutions quickly, adding stress when finding the best solutions requires peace. In every crisis there are opportunities to discover new ways to do business, new solutions, and scientific and technological breakthroughs that could open the door for a better future than we could have imagined otherwise.

God wants us to turn to Him in our work at all times. But it is absolutely critical in times of crisis that we look to God, our Father, who created each one of us in His image. The disciples saw Jesus turn to God daily. They witnessed the effectiveness of his prayers and asked Jesus to teach them to pray. So Jesus taught them the Lord’s Prayer. The early thrust of this prayer makes it clear that God’s desire is not that we escape troubling times on earth, but rather we participate in bringing the life and culture of heaven to earth. 

Prayer is not a last resort, but our most powerful tool for inviting God to guide us. God uses those in business, science and technology to bring about Holy Spirit-inspired solutions that contribute to bringing His Kingdom on earth. Use this time of crisis as an opportunity to be more intentional about turning to God. Start by praying for all those in business, science and technology. Pray that they will seek God’s will, and gain inspiration from the Holy Spirit to bring about solutions we could never come up with on our own. Send an email to a leader you know to let them know you are praying for them.

Prayer

Father God, we lift up those in business, science and technology and pray that they are inspired to turn to you instead of their fear. We ask you to give them wisdom as they seek answers and solutions that can bless all people. Protect leaders in business, science and technology and guide them so that they do their work in a way that brings you glory and contributes to a better, healthier world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
