The second lit Looter is Something we would name ‘THE UNKNOWN’. 

‘The Unknown’ is really unpredictable. This lit looter comes in the form of situations and circumstances when you least expect them…sickness, death, separation. Somehow our human minds and hearts don't do very well when this Lit-looter finishes making a crime scene out of our secured lives.



 

If you have faced ‘The Unknown’, The scars that remain after the encounter are painful. 

When you think of it, you realize, every scar has a story to tell, over time those scars become marks…Like Stretch Marks, yes, they are evident and not very pleasant, but these marks are signs of growth. 

You are probably carrying the scars of a painful separation, either by death or by a misunderstanding or you are battling a terminal illness …the pain and misery of such a situation can't be expressed in words.

 How do we deal with this?

In order to deal with this Lit-looter or joy robber, The unknown you have to come against it with The known. 

When ‘The Unknown’ comes in the form of Separation, ‘The known’ is found in scripture -  in Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

When ‘The Unknown’ comes in the form of Death ‘The known’ is found in scripture  and Jesus says it best when he says in John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.

When ‘The Unknown’ comes in the form of Sickness, The known’ is found in scripture in Isaiah 53:4-6

4Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God,

stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Prayer :

Dear Lord, you know what I don’t know. You know my past, my present and my future. You are present in every battle and you are my assurance. Help me to face ‘the unknown’ with your help. Amen.
