Day 1 - Understanding our call

Attempting to discover purpose in life without understanding God’s reasons for your existence is like trying to use a new gadget, one you have never seen before, without consulting the instruction manual on what it is and how it works. 

God created man for very specific reasons, and he wants a relationship. We see in scripture that God originally created man to 1) glorify God and enjoy fellowship with Him, 2) see life on this earth in a true and proper perspective, 3) maintain loving relationships with others, and 4) work. 

But with man's fall into sin, fellowship with God is broken, relationships with others are strained, work seems to always be frustrating, and man struggles to maintain any semblance of dominion over nature. 

Only by restoring fellowship with God, through faith in Jesus Christ, can true purpose in life be discovered and enjoyed. We will spend the next five days walking through how to find meaning and purpose. 

Father God, I pray this is the start of finding meaning, purpose and hope in life. Give me the heart to read through this plan and let your Word transform my heart. Amen.
