The Fasted Life

"Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Fasting is not a command in the scripture. It is a divine invitation. It is not meant to be a duty of dreadedness but rather a delight of devotion. The Father rewards those who seek Him. What is the reward?

Fame? 

Money? 

Titles? 

Friends? 

Success? 

Nope! 

Jesus is the exceeding great reward for those who choose the fasted life. What is that life? It is a life that delights in saying no in order to say yes. It is a life that prayers about everything and is willing to fast a meal for this or fast an activity for that. Why? Because spending time with God is more glorious than all other things and those that choose a fasted life do so because Jesus is worthy of it all. 

Prayer: 

Lord, help me to live a fasted life. Not for a few weeks or a year but for me life.
