God Can Give You Wisdom

DAY 1 OF 5

Where Can You Find Wisdom?

How can I make right choices?

How do I avoid danger and foolishness?

How much is enough of a good thing?

Whoa. Those are three big questions. You know what it takes to answer those three questions?

Wisdom.

But isn’t wisdom something that just comes with age? Isn’t it just for people who are really smart? How are you supposed to make wise choices, avoid foolishness, and to be satisfied with what you have—when you’re not even a teenager yet?

People think wisdom comes with aging, but guess what: That’s not always true! Wisdom comes from God. And He did not put an age requirement on receiving wisdom from Him. Check out this video from Josh and Webbles for more on that.

Did you catch that part where they talked about how God gave wisdom to King Solomon? How he was known as the wisest person who ever lived? Pay attention to today’s reading from the book of 1 Kings. You’ll read that Solomon was only a young boy when he was made king and asked God for wisdom—and God gave it to him! He didn’t have to grow up first.

For the next four days, this Bible Plan will cover how to walk in wisdom. Today! Wisdom can be yours, no matter your age, no matter what kind of grades you get in school. Because true wisdom comes from God, not human knowledge.

Ask yourself: If I could ask God to help me make better, wiser choices about one thing, what would it be?

Challenge yourself: Grab a piece of paper and something to write with. Then, walk around for a bit. While you walk, write down several things you see that you need God’s wisdom to handle properly. Example: TV (need wisdom to know which shows are good to watch, and how long you should watch each day), Food (need wisdom to know which snacks will fuel your body for health—and how many treats per day are good for you), and so on.

Pray: God, I know I’m just a kid, but I’m so glad You see me as someone who can learn Your wisdom. I need wisdom to know what’s best for me. I need wisdom to make good choices, to learn patience, and to realize when I’ve had enough of a good thing. Help me to grow in Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 2

About this Plan

God Can Give You Wisdom

Making good choices. Patience. Moderation. You know what these three things have in common? God says they’re full of wisdom. But can God give wisdom to a pre-teen? Don’t you have to be old and gray to be wise? Nah. This ...
