God Is Deeper Than Rejection

You’re out. You’re left. Nobody chose you. You didn’t make the team. You’re not in the show. You didn’t make the cut. 

Ouch! 

Just reading those sentences can make you start to feel sweaty and anxious. But guess what? God looks at us, sees where we’ve made mistakes and wrong choices—and loves us anyway. 

He could’ve rejected each and every one of us, but He didn’t. His love is deeper than rejection. His love made a way for us to be allowed in His presence forever. His love reached down to earth to be with us. His love is unconditional, undeserved, and unreserved. Watch this video to hear more about that. 

A few reminders. 

• God’s love is unconditional: There is nothing you need to do to get or earn His love. It’s yours.


• God’s love is undeserved: You will never be perfect enough to deserve a perfect God’s love.


• God’s love is unreserved: He doesn’t hold it back from some. He pours His love out for everyone equally. 

Ask yourself: We’re on our fourth day together looking at John 3:16 and everything it means to us this Christmas season. Which part of this verse means the most to you now? 

Challenge yourself: Spend a few moments reading and re-reading John 3:16. See if you can say it from memory. Remember, the version you’ve been hearing and seeing in the videos is NLT. It might be easiest for you to use that version as you memorize.  

Pray: God, Your love is perfect because You are perfect. Thank You for loving me even though I’m anything but perfect. Thank You for giving Your love to me, no matter what I do. Help me to live securely in Your love every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
