Motivation For Men – Keeping It Pure

DAY 8 OF 30

“A Clean Heart” It is hard to overstate how wickedly King David had acted. He had committed adultery with the wife of one of his loyal soldiers, Uriah the Hittite, and then conspired to have Uriah killed in battle when David's cover-up attempt had failed. This from a man who had been chosen over his predecessor, King Saul, because David was a man after God's own heart. But it is impossible to overstate the goodness of God. When Nathan the prophet confronted David about his sin and David repented, God forgave him. In this prayer, David asked for the restoration of the things he had lost through sin. A clean heart A steadfast, willing spirit God's presence God's Holy Spirit The joy of God's salvation There is good news for us as well. We can repent and receive forgiveness as well through the blood of Jesus, but more than that, we don't need to wait until there is sin to confess in order to ask for the things David asked for. We simply need to acknowledge our need and put ourselves in the place of faith and humility where we can receive from God.
