Kamp Kids Book of John StudySample

Death is not the worst thing in life. Not believing in Christ is.
Watch what Jesus does in these verses. “So when Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed there two more days..” Umm… If this were your sibling or loved one, you may start to panic. When you run to Jesus to tell Him something that is urgent and important to you and He appears to “stay where He is” and do nothing, do you doubt His goodness?
If I am being honest, often times I do. Then Jesus tells His disciples that “Lazarus is dead and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe…” You see? Death was not the worst thing that could happen to the people that loved Lazarus. The worst thing would be that they missed out in seeing God’s power at work in a mighty way. God was about to do something bigger and greater in the hearts of all who witnessed it and would hear about it. He was about to show people He had the power to raise the dead to life!
Questions:
1. How do you react when God doesn’t give you what you want when you want it?
2. Do you really believe Jesus can raise the dead?
3. If God can raise the dead, He can do anything. What miracle are you asking God for?
When I was young I wanted Him desperately to save my brother and my parents. I prayed and prayed and it appeared God “stayed where He was.” Fast forward 3 years and my brother gave His life to Christ and is now a pastor leading many to Christ. Fast forward about 20 more years and my mom finally came to know Christ and is serving Him in her church and Bible Study. And a few more years after that, my dad came to know the Lord. He too is serving in the church. Again I say, He can do anything! Ask Him! I have a friend who has an “impossible prayer list.” I challenge you to start one. On her list she prays for things that would be “impossible” if God wasn’t who He says He is.

About this Plan

"We get hype for Jesus," but why? What's so amazing about this Jesus guy? Is He really worth living for? Is He really who He says He is? "Kamp Kids John Study" was written as a 60 day devotional to keep kids engaged with Jesus and His heart, especially after coming back from "kamp" or an amazing encounter with our living God.
