The Good Fight

We are in an unseen battle – a fight not won with fists, but won with truth and love. It is a fight that will change everything. It is a fight that requires each and every one of us. There is no better fight to fight – no other cause that will so transform our world. We are in the good fight.

Our hope and belief as we begin this 10-day journey is that each one of us would be better equipped to fight the good fight. But what is this GOOD FIGHT?

That may sound like an oxymoron – how can a fight be good? When children fight with their siblings we tell them to stop, if a fight breaks out on a sports field or in a schoolyard it is brought to a halt as quickly as possible. These are fights that only cause harm and damage, but the Bible teaches us that there is a good fight, one that has eternal significance and is of great importance.

In Ephesians 6:12 we learn that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” We are engaged in this fight because we have an enemy, the devil, who does not want us to experience the fullness of life that God has for us. Jesus makes it really clear in John 10:10 that this enemy wants to destroy us, but that God wants the best for us.

This good fight is waged in the spirit. It’s not about physical weapons or human hands, it’s not even a fight against other people – it is a decision to stand up against the forces of darkness, knowing that with God on our side, we already have the victory!

Make it personal:

Each day there will be key questions for you to consider. We encourage you to journal your thoughts and answers and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you throughout these 10 days.

Pray for God to strengthen your spirit over this journey.

What are you asking God for over these 10 days?

If fear was no obstacle in your life, what would you attempt for God tomorrow?
