The author of Revelation is the apostle John, along with the Gospel of John and his three Epistles.
DATE:
Revelation was written towards the end of John's life and after his other writings, making it sometime in the mid-90's AD.
AUDIENCE:
According to Revelation 1:11, John is writing this book to the "seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."
REASON:
John wrote the book of Revelation to show the completion of God's plan.
THEME:
The current Church and its future.
