COLOSSIANS
AUTHOR:
The letter to the Colossians was written by the apostle Paul.
DATE:
Paul wrote Colossians at the same time as Ephesians and Philemon around AD 60 to 61, during the beginning of his Roman imprisonment.
AUDIENCE:
This letter was written to the church at Colossae which was made up of mostly Gentiles.
REASON:
Colossians was written to correct some false teachings that were distorting the Colossian's view of Jesus, to show them the full deity of Christ, and to show their fullness in Christ.
THEME:
Fullness in Christ.
KEY VERSE:
"For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority." (2:9-10 NASB)
