The Decision

Day 1 of 3 • This day’s reading

It’s Your Choice.

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua‬ ‭24:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Who will you choose to serve? Christ or the idols of your past? Choose to give Christ your life. It’s your choice to either serve Christ or to stay entangled in the idols of your past. What have you exalted above Christ? Who have you exalted above Christ? Christ is the only person that can set you free from every bondage and release you from every entanglement of sin. When you are in Christ, the power of sin no longer has the authority to keep you bound. In Christ, your sins are washed away.

It’s your decision to either cling to the idols of the past or you can choose to start new in Christ. Today, choose to surrender to God and let the past go. You can’t fill a God-sized void with material things. You can’t fill a spiritual void with natural things. Material things cannot set you free. Your wealth cannot eliminate your torment. Your socio-economic status or influence cannot take away your depression. Your freedom is found in Christ. No matter what situation you’re facing, Christ died for you, and through Him your sins are forgiven.

Through the Blood of Jesus Christ your past is erased. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you choose to surrender your life to the only One who can set you free. Every old thing is passed away, behold all things become new. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Father God in the Name of Jesus, I repent of my sin and I turn to You. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Father, I give my heart completely over to You. Father, I choose to turn to You. I choose to live for You — forever. Lord, wash my heart and I will be made new. Father, in You I will be made whole. In Jesus Name. Amen.
