Motives To Serve GodSample

Unless The Lord Builds The House!
Are you a risk taker or a very “play it safe” kind of person?
I have found many many initiatives, businesses, programs, and new beginnings start. Some turn out to be a great success. In a period of 5 to 8 years, the life of the people who took the risk is completely transformed. Some of these risky beginnings have failed and ended painfully.
My personality lent more to be a “play it safe” kind. But when I started walking with Jesus and took my faith in Christ seriously, I found myself having to take risks or choices which were leading me to an unknown path—a road less traveled. I was scared. “Will it work?”I thought to myself very, very often, before any new initiative.
With this struggle, I was always looking for answers. That’s when I met a man of God who shed light into my struggles, which has enabled me to perceive things more clearly. He talked about the verse in the Bible that says
“God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble”.
God opposes the PROUD.
Humility is not an act, but a way of life. The motives of the heart are known and weighed by God, Who looks at our motives and intentions. Blessings follow the man or woman who loves Him, loves other people, and lives humbly before God.
Can you even imagine how much God will stand by us and endorse the work of our hands when we walk in His light. Oh, what an honor and privilege to know Jesus!
