The Power Of Rest

DAY 11 OF 30

Today, as a pastor, I find that the biggest question people ask me is, “What am I supposed to do with my life?” The reason they ask is because in the earth realm since Adam, the quest for provision is the goal by which everything else is measured. Decisions are usually made on the basis of money and not purpose. Money and the need for it can force people to take jobs they hate. In reality, most people do not have a clue who they really are. Mark this down, “Until you know God, you will never know His design for your life. He is the One who created you.”

People are so hungry to find out who they are. In the world, they seem to be just a number, but to God they are a very special and unique creation with skills and potential that no one else has. But because they do not know God and, thus, do not know themselves, they look for their value in all the wrong places. They allow the culture to dictate their value by accepting what the culture says. But the image the media portrays and the mirror of the culture are all shifting shadows. By the time you think you are stepping in line with what it calls acceptable, you will find that it has changed and you are already behind.

Too many people abandon their passion for a paycheck and their vision for provision.

God gave you dreams for a reason. You cannot just look at yourself based on where you live, what you have, or your present circumstances, and judge your potential. You have to look at what God has hidden in you—your created potential. You have to change your perspective to think like God thinks!
