Love God Greatly: Faithful Love Sample

The people of Israel were in a downward spiral because of their sin. They sinned more and more. There was no repentance, no awareness of how deep their sin was taking them. God never blessed Israel when they worshipped Baal, but that didn’t stop them. They kept after their idolatry.
The idolatry made them make metal images of idols. They made them out of silver and, what drew my attention in these verses, is how craftsmen skillfully made the images. I can´t help thinking about how the Israelites wasted their skills. Instead of using what God had given them to do great things for His glory, they used their skills to make idols.
How are you using the skills and talents God has given you? Are you using them for the glory of God? Or are you using them for personal gain? Psalm 1 reminds us that the Lord knows the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked. He knows the motivation in our hearts better than we do.
Dear God, I want to serve You with all the gifts and talents You have given me. I want to use everything I am and everything I have for Your glory and to extend Your Kingdom. Amen.

About this Plan

Faithful love. Covenant promise. Everlasting commitment. Not only do these words describe the relationship of God to His people, but they describe the relationship of Hosea to his wife, Gomer. Hosea reminds us that God is a covenant keeping God. His faithful love pursues His people, His promises remain steadfast, and His commitment remains sure. This story offers encouragement and hope, showing how God’s faithful love pursues us.
