“Then at the Lord’s command Moses gave this order to the Israelites: “What the tribe of the descendants of Joseph is saying is right.” (Numbers 36:5 NIV)

All the rules and commands that were given to the Israelites through Moses, came from God. But in this verse, it’s as if they were trying to tell God about something which appeared to encourage God to give a new rule.

Did not God already know about all the things His people said to Him before they even speak? Are there actually things that God doesn’t know?
