Life In The Kingdom

DAY 45 OF 45

The Power Of Christ Rests On Me

9 And he said to me, My grace sufficeth to thee; for virtue is perfectly made in infirmity. Therefore gladly I shall glory in mine infirmities, that the virtue of Christ dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, Wycliffe Bible)

9 and finally He said to me, “My grace is enough to cover and sustain you. My power is made perfect in weakness.” So ask me about my thorn, inquire about my weaknesses, and I will gladly go on and on—I would rather stake my claim in these and have the power of the Anointed One at home within me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, The Voice)

Paul boasts and talks about his weakness! Paul reveals, instead of concealing his weakness. As a result he is healed. Instead of accusing and excusing, he asks for God’s help. He is not afraid nor ashamed to admit his weaknesses.

Let’s look at how most people naturally respond to their weaknesses. People would conceal it instead of revealing it and therefore not be healed of it. People accuse others and excuse themselves instead of asking to be rescued. People become ashamed and afraid instead of make aware by admitting and acknowledging they need help.

An unconfessed weakness will become a sickness. But the good news is that our weaknesses when brought to Christ will turn to wholeness. Growth is when we can see our own weaknesses. When we can see our weaknesses, the Kingdom of God comes over us and we are made strong. The power of Christ rests on that area of weakness. And the word “rest or dwell” is “temple or tabernacle”. It is Jesus making His home in us!

In Jesus, we have a source for true self-control far beyond that of our feeble selves. Kingdom self-control is not about bringing our bodily passions under our own control, but under the control of Christ by the power of the Spirit.

Prayer: Dear Father, today I celebrate my weaknesses and bring them to You. I confess that I am weak and need the love of Christ to dwell in my heart. Lord, You are the one true source that has given me life. I gladly receive all the Kingdom goodness that comes with it. God, You are powerful and loving and I desire You to fill my life! In Jesus’ powerful and mighty name, Amen!
