Your Financial/Money Cow

Most people have a love-hate kind of relationship with money. Money, like any other human experience, should be given its place in our lives, and that place should be respected. A healthy attitude towards it is important. 

I learnt that without the right attitude and beliefs about money, it is difficult to have a good relationship with it. So there are some things I have learnt about money that has helped me to relate to money correctly.

The first is that I don’t look at how much someone has, but what they do that made them have the money. This helps me to appreciate the money. When a person who has invented a life-saving gadget becomes a billionaire, I surely have no problem with that because although the invention made them lots of money, the truth is they are saving lives. 

Secondly, I have learnt to differentiate between making money and taking money. Making money is noble, but taking is evil. People that make money are those who end up having money due to the value they add to society. People taking money are those who are doing things that are destroying people while they are taking money, or those who have found a way of bleeding the sytem through corrupt practices to take money.

The third thing that helps me about money is my belief that money is simply stored value. In a fair and corruption-free society, money is simply a reward one gets for adding value to society. Society rewards a person with money for the value they add. 

Prayer: Lord help me to have a good relationship with money. Help me to know what value you want me to add to society. Amen
