Love God Greatly-Fear & AnxietySample
READ: Psalm 27:1, 3
SOAP: Psalm 27:1
A characteristic contrary to fear is strength. When we go through times of fear, the last thing we often feel is strong. After a long day at an amusement park, one of the sweetest images is seeing a father carrying his sleeping child in his arms back to the car. The child rests peacefully as the dad wearily carries the light-up toys, cooler, and his forty-pound bundle of joy. But we know the father would not trade anything for the experience.
We often forget that we are the child at the amusement park. Sometimes, we simply must reach up and allow God to carry us in His arms. Unlike an earthly father’s arms, our Heavenly Father does not tire from our load. He wants to be our strength. Jesus tells us to come to Him when we are weary.
Name a time you have gone to God when you have felt that you had no strength left. How did He provide for you? God’s strength is never-ending.
Father God, thank You that You give me the strength to carry on even when I feel that I have no strength left. Thank You for letting me know that I always have access to You. Forgive me for times I doubt that I can come to You with my problems. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
